The journal was inspired by interest from members and clients of Kay who saw her writing her daily class journals.
So then Kay thought, ” what a great gift this would be for my clients, friends and family.”  Once she started to write and produce it (along with the help of her husband for techie help and guidance), it took on legs and a momentum of its own!
A year down the road it is now fully funded from a Kickstarter campaign, going to print and ready to order.
Thus Kay and Khalifa now have a little self-publishing empire going as there are two more journals in the pipeline.
The Kickstarter campaign generated a lot of interest from around the globe and so it is with that in mind that we say – ” Take a look at the link” , so you get a good idea of what the My Body Journal is all about :

  • Hi Kay I’ve had a chance to have a proper look at and read of My Body Journal and I love, love, love it for lots of different reasons:
    • The size, look and feel of it are just right. It’s big enough to write in yet small enough to be portable. You could sit on the bus, tube or in a coffee shop and use it.
    • The text – you manage to fit a great deal of information into the intro and As,Bs and Cs. This is great as it means lots of space for The Journal pages.
    • I don’t know quite how to describe this but I love the fact that you show us how to use the journal. I found the example journal page really useful. I am a journal addict and am forever buying them but often they just sit at home as I’m sure one day the perfect use will come along… However, I know I’ll use this one as it has a specific purpose and you have given an example, one that relates to real life too.
•I can’t wait to start using it as I’ve been out of action exercise wise for a couple of weeks as I had a muscle in my lower back go into spasm a couple of weeks ago (first time ever had any back probs) and then just had flu jab and have had flu like symptoms (which is poss but has never happened to me before) so I am going to use the journal to chart starting activity again once I’m better and think recording how I feel after will guide me in how fast/ slow to take it.Relates directly to Number 8 in ‘Why use a journal’ although having just reread that think I will start today and have little movement aims around the house.
•The Words of Wisdom pages are good break up the text/ journal pages and make you pause and think.
    • I love the pages for recipes and especially the inspiration pages, I’m forever coming across phrases or thoughts by people that really resonate and then forget what they are or where I’m seen them, now I have somewhere to record them and look back. I have to say the first of my inspirations is going to be ‘Kay for having the vision, commitment and determination to make this journal happen.
•Ben and Carbie – excellent way to illustrate the point, but the names pure Kay genius …
•Love the glasses of water reminder we all need that and being hydrated makes such a difference.
•I like the use of the inside front and back covers (often wasted space) good to have the info on your background, qualifications for those who don’t know you as it gives credence to your work. Also the photo of you in Mexico and at the market are both great – a real person looking fantastic on the rewards of healthy living rather than a model.

Sorry for the length of this but I know you wanted feedback but I write like I talk once I start …

Hope this is helpful. Going to write it my goals for today now.

Also the headbands are really nice too and as my mother would say ‘high quality’

    • Thank you so much Jo. What an amazing review as you have really highlighted how this journal was born.
It came from an altruistic place of realizing how my own work journals have helped me and my clients over the years as a teacher and also personally in my own health journey.
It was born from knowing that we are all ultimately responsible for our own health and well being with the daily choices we make.
All these little daily choices build us from the inside out on a deep cellular level.
I love what appears on the page, and really hope you love what you discover too. Whatever we discover it is valuable.
Thank you once again for your support Jo.x

      • Howdy I am so excited I found your web site, I rlleay found you by accident, while I was searching on Yahoo for something else, Nonetheless I am here now and would just like to say thanks for a tremendous post and a all round thrilling blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to browse it all at the minute but I have bookmarked it and also included your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read a lot more, Please do keep up the awesome job.

  • Hi Kay

I’m loving my journal. I decided to start the candida diet on the day I started to use the journal. It has been a roller coaster week – but the journal has kept me focused. The water reminder/checker is fantastic – and I keep flushing the toxins from my system. I have already entered the recipe for coconut bread in the back of the journal! It has also encouraged me with my stretching and the application of heat to my lower back. The journal has been my support during week one. I anticipate that my daily routine will change as my back recovers and that my exercise routine will increase. I look forward to tracking the changes as my energy increases from the diet and the candida die off diminishes. I shall enjoy looking back through the different stages of healing and recovery. Brilliant idea! Well done Kay! x

    • Thank you so much Louise for such wonderful feedback. To know that it is of use and has lasting value to your health makes me burst with pride. It´s all I could ever wish for. All the best with the candida diet Louise and if you can send the coconut bread recipe when you get a moment that would be lovely. Sounds yummy :)

      • Good day I am so happy I found your website, I rlelay found you by error, while I was researching on Askjeeve for something else, Anyways I am here now and would just like to say cheers for a marvelous post and a all round exciting blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to go through it all at the minute but I have book-marked it and also added in your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read a lot more, Please do keep up the excellent work.

  • Brilliant idea – My Body Journal. Not overwhelming in size ie not too much to fill out daily which is definitely a very good thing. I love the positivity of it, the area for notes and observations is an area to further explore and improve on rather than an area where I can write down how I failed in my quest for a stronger body that day. Its also great to actually write down how I achieved my Goals in the Activities section as suddenly I can see … YES I actually did quite a lot today for my body, it has the result of spurring me on to achieve more for it in the coming days. Being a big water drinker anyhow I adore the glasses of water icons at the bottom as these are easy for me to cross off – instant gratification that I did something really well today – but I guess that wasnt the idea of them – but it works well for me. Love this journal Kay and am going to be showing it to my pilates teacher too.

    • Thank you Helen for your enthusiasm and kind words. I am so glad it is working for you as a ” health tool”. I found that is was only after I had filled in my Dry January month that I realised so many things about my health and body that had not been so evident to me at the time. We are learning all the time and our next journal goes to print today infact, so watch this page!!! Blessings, Kay.x

  • Thank you Kay for such an inspirational book, I am looking forward to getting started with it and it helping me to build myself back up to full strength. xxx

    • So glad you like it Gini. I think on the first Words of Wisdom page, a part of that quote “…The secret to your success is found in your daily routines “..is the one that resonates so clearly . Enjoy! x
